한국24반무예문화진흥원은 2017년 유네스코 세계기록유산으로 등재된 《무예도보통지》를 복원하고 계승해온 민족도장경당의 전승자 김대양 대표가 설립한 기관입니다.
우리 진흥원은 무예도보통지에 기록된 24반무예를 연구하고 복원하며, 다양한 교육 프로그램을 통해 현대적으로 계승하고 있습니다. 나아가 세계 속에 한국 전통 무예의 가치를 알리고 확산하는 것을 목표로 활동하고 있습니다.

사단법인 한국24반무예문화진흥원 — 전통 무예의 공식 전승 단체

고(故) 임동규 선생님은 민족도장 경당의 창설자이자, 『무예도보통지』 속 24반무예 복원에 결정적 역할을 하신 분입니다.

선생님께서는 사단법인 민족도장 경당의 대표이사로 2010년 4월 6일 취임 후 2011년 2월 28일까지 활동하셨으며, 직접 승낙을 통해 ‘민족도장 경당’ 명칭 사용을 허락해 주셨습니다.

또한 취임과 퇴임 시 인감증명서 및 임감을 전달해 주시며 경당의 정통성과 계보를 공식적으로 위임하셨습니다.

현재 사단법인 한국24반무예문화진흥원은
임동규 선생님의 유일한 전승자인 김대양 대표가 이끌고 있으며, 선생님의 뜻과 전통 24반무예의 정신을 이어가는 공식 전승 단체입니다.

Korea 24 Martial Arts Cultural Promotion Association — The Official Successor of Traditional Martial Arts

The late Master Im Dong-gyu
was the founder of Minjok Dojang Gyeongdang and played a pivotal role in restoring the 24 Martial Arts from the Muye Dobo Tongji.

He served as the CEO of the incorporated Minjok Dojang Gyeongdang
from April 6, 2010, to February 28, 2011,
and personally granted permission to use the official name “Gyeongdang.”

Upon his inauguration and retirement,
he entrusted the foundation with his registered seal and certificate,
formally delegating the lineage and authenticity of Gyeongdang.

Today, the Korea 24 Martial Arts Cultural Promotion Association
is led by Master Kim Daeyang, the sole successor of Master Im Dong-gyu’s lineage.
The association continues to preserve and promote his legacy and the spirit of the traditional 24 Martial Arts as the official inheriting organization.

A martial arts performance showcasing the bravery of Baekje warriors and the training of young Gyebaek is being held at Chunghwa Palchungsa.
From the Seven-Branched Sword Dance to the Women Warriors’ Twin Sword Dance, Young Gyebaek’s combined martial arts, and live cutting demonstrations—this stage conveys the spirit and legacy of Baekje.

Cutting Practice (Beggi) is one of the core disciplines in traditional martial arts, where precision, strength, and focus are combined to cut through a target.
It’s not about brute force — but the harmony of posture, breathing, and concentration, showing the depth of a warrior’s training.

In particular, bamboo cutting trains power and technique to overcome resistance, while straw bundle cutting develops accuracy and fine control of the blade.

2010년, C&C 20 전통공예문화대전에서 무예24반이 한국 전통 무인의 복식을 갖추고 시범을 펼쳤습니다.
조선시대 군사훈련서 『무예도보통지』를 바탕으로 한 실연으로, 단순한 공연을 넘어 전통무예의 역사와 정신을 온몸으로 전한 뜻깊은 순간이었습니다.
정교한 동작과 단단한 기세, 그리고 복식 하나하나의 의미까지 — 한국 전통문화의 깊이를 느낄 수 있던 소중한 시간이었습니다.

In 2010, at the C&C 20 Traditional Craft Culture Exhibition, Muye 24 Ban showcased a martial arts performance in full traditional Korean warrior attire.
Based on the Muye Dobo Tongji, the historic military manual of the Joseon Dynasty, this was more than a performance — it was a living expression of the history and spirit of Korea’s traditional martial arts.
From precise movements to the symbolic details of each garment, the event offered a rare glimpse into the depth of Korean heritage.
