Reviving the Spirit of Goguryeo through the 24-Ban Martial Arts
Korea 24-Ban Martial Arts Cultural Promotion Association
Founded by Representative Kim Dae-yang, a successor of Kyungdang—the lineage training hall that restored and carried forward the 24 Martial Arts recorded in the Muye Dobo Tongji (listed as a UNESCO Memory of the World in 2017)—the Institute researches, restores, and modernizes these arts through education programs.
Our mission is to share the value of Korean martial arts with the world.

Our Vision and Activities
The Institute continues the spirit of our ancestors—both scholarly and martial—training well-rounded individuals who embody both culture (mun) and martial spirit (mu).
In 2019, the Muye Dobo Tongji was further recognized as Seoul Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 51 (“Traditional Military Camp Martial Arts”).
We focus on three pillars:
-
Restoration and Preservation of traditional martial arts
-
Education and Leadership Training for future martial arts practitioners
-
Cultural Promotion and International Exchange, hosting events, performances, and exchange programs that make Korean martial arts accessible to global audiences
Business Areas

Preserving Traditional Martial Arts
We continue research and practice with the goal of restoring and transmitting the 24 Martial Arts of Korean tradition, preserving their historical value. Through this, we aim to pass on traditional culture to future generations and revive the essence of martial arts that had once been forgotten.

Education & Leadership Training
Through diverse educational programs, we cultivate martial arts practitioners and strive to train leaders who embody both the scholarly (文) and martial (武) spirit. With martial arts classes, certification programs, and customized education for youth and adults, we nurture the next generation of martial arts talent.

Cultural Promotion & International Exchange
We host a variety of events, performances, and international exchange programs to promote Korean traditional martial arts both domestically and abroad, offering cultural content that is easily accessible to people worldwide. Through these efforts, we aim to globalize Korean traditional martial arts and expand the global martial arts community.
